Default Gutting The Cat

Guys, plz what does it mean or entail to gut the catalyst converters in our cars? Thanks.

This is actually in reference to our PRE-cats...there is one pre-cat on each exhaust bank, right at the exhaust collector. The pre-cat filter material (inside the pre-cat), will eventually break down and start to break apart. "gutting the cat" means removing the pre-cats and breaking all of the material out of them so they are hollow afterwards.

You're welcome. I should point out, that if you do this, you've rendered your converters inoperative. You may throw a code and you probably won't pass emissions if they have it where you live.
