Default DIY Intakes

I know some of you have them. An i want to see them. Custom intakes or just a intake you bought a modified it. I recently bought a cold air intake. An i am not happy about my low end loss. So i was thinking. An came up with this.

I use to have this

Now i have this

Can't stand my low end loss. Though the top is a little better. I was thinking about hacking off some of the cold air intake. An use the stillen intake at the end. Basically i would have a stillen sri. The way they should have made it. Deleting the factory maf housing hose an resonators.. An if i ever wanted to run cold air again i could buy a by pass coupling to fit the two pieces together again... what do you guys think...

I think you paid too much money for that intake to hack it and make it a short ram. Lol. Your money, your parts.

I have a metal chop saw. would be a nice clean cut. An i was thinking i could still use it as a cai if i ever wanted to again. By buying a water by-pass coupler like the nismo has.

I roll with it. It's only been on a little over a week. maybe it will grow on me. If not i will look into injen or takeda. I wanted this one because of the one piece construction. But looking at it now the other 2 i could have converted to sri by now...

I chopped my Fujita over the weekend to make it a SRI. I missed the low end to much, and have plenty of top end power with the spacers installed.

I just need to pick up a bigger filter and I'll be good to go.

For another $10, I can pick up a coupler and hook the old piece back on to go back to a CAI in the future.

So i measured an cut it today. An just for kicks hooked it up to see if it would work as a cai still. An it does. Have it as a sri. right now. When i get my maf adapter i will hook the stillen velocity stack an tube to it. Seems the pipe comes flared for some reason. The flared ends are close to 3.5 inches. An the tube its self is only 3.. Wonder if that may have been some of the problem. All i know he she pulls like a bitch now. An the intake has a nice loud noise........

No pics - I cut mine, using a hacksaw, about 2 inches below the elbow.

I need to buy or devise a heat shield though.
