Default Re: 3.5 Altima Headers

doing this from my cell, so hopefully it comes out making sense lol...

-You have to shave the flange on the front manifold to fit the starter, easiest way to do it is on the car.
-o2 sims are needed to not have a code, but good luck finding them, next to impossible these days.
-You need to add an egr port to the rear manifold, easiest way is to have a tube welded onto the center tube and run a high-heat flex line. Otherwise, find a nut that threads onto the oem egr tube, and try to weld it in JUST the right spot.
-You will have to unwrap the wiring for the upper o2 sensors, they are long enough, you just have to free up the wire.
-The lower sensors need tto be extended...do this from the harness, NOT the sensor.

I think I covered it...any other questions, hit me up.

Oh, and buy a resonator...my Vibrant Ultra-Quiet 14" sounded amazing, but without it, it will sound like ass.

I just finished my install on these today!

If you have a 6spd! you don't have to shave anything and install is very straight forward. taking off the old headers is a serious pain. i found some generic 02 sims on amazon.com I have not tried them yet. Yes you will have to extend 2 of the 02 sensors, its not very difficult. I have not welded my egr yet..and well car runs fine, i don't really have to worry about emissions and my mpg are still the same more or less 20ish..i do a lot of city driving. If your doing this yourself make sure your patient once the old headers and cats are off..its very easy.
steps i took.
I took off the lower motor mount and CV axle
I also took off intake manifold
The headers in my opinion were the most difficult..i had to remove bracked for the rear motor mount as well.
If your patient take your time its not bad
Also do realize you will lose cats so it will make the car sound considerably louder and when you punch the gas and yes you will it does get a bit raspy. I plan on fixing that be adding a good resonator. Hope that helps

And do you OEM gaskets much better in my opinion then the ebay gaskets. a bit pricey but i believe its a worthy investment!

^^RTV Ultra Copper is the way to go, forget gaskets all together...And it should run fine without the EGR, it just depends on the state...in RI, you can't pass inspection with an CEL, so the EGR has to be there...Just dont do the install, and then go back to do the EGR, not worth doing all that work twice...if your going to do it, do it the first time.

Kenji , if you dont want to extend the o2, As mention before the 350z are longer.

Dont need to splice and just plug and play harness FTW ! ( wish I knew that a few years ago )
