Default Wierd Smell

I have been getting a burning smell the best i can describe from the driver side of the engine. You don't even have to lift the hood to smell it. Just have to stand by the front wheel. I am at a loss on this. Last time i had my oil changed everything was ok. No leaks found. An i had my clutch put in a nissan an had no leaks in that so that rules out any burning fluids. I have no idea what it could be. Car runs fine... i guess i need to take it to get looked at before something become's a big something...

Could be a valve cover gasket leak, oil O ring seal leak, oil sensor leak.. Park your car on a clean area and check it in the AM to see if you see any oil drops/stains

Default Re: Wierd Smell

I had a burning smell and I never knew what it was. I took it to the dealer for some other repairs and they found the transmission seals were leaking. It would get on the exhaust and give me the burning smell.

I didn't notice the smell until i had the passenger cv axle replaced. I had to have it replaced again. The first time after 2 days i couldn't go over 55 with out the whole car feeling like it was gonna fall apart... they told me it may have been defective so they ordered another one an replaced it. Seem's to be fine. But i don't know if that would have anything to do with it being the smell is coming from the driver side...
