Default Whining Sound (Don't Think Its Timing Chain)

So I just went through a bunch of different threads on engine whining etc. because my 05 SE has been doing this as it gets toward the end of each gear. After listening to the timing chain videos I don't think that is my problem.
MY CAR:
Sounds fine when idle, but a heavy foot rev will trigger a slight ping or metal type noise, and at the end of each gear it is noticable.
It tends to get louder when I get low on gas, I ALWAYS use premium 93 octane so that isnt the problem either, and I put octane booster and various cleaners in with every oil change. After I fill up the problem is almost non existant for the first quarter of the fresh tank.

This problem has been annoying the hell out of me for a couple months now and it drives me absolutely crazy, anybody have any insight?

Can you tell where it's coming from? Front/rear/driver side, etc?

more info needed, but could be the injectors...the higher RPM your traveling at, the more the injector has to work...might be dirty, and getting a little noisey...might be worth trying some fuel injector cleaner

Is it possible you are hearing the fuel pump whining? If it gets louder as the tank nears empty...it sounds like a fuel pump. I know the fuel pump in my Mustang was extremely loud. The fuel in the tank is used to lubricate and cool the pump, so running the car down to empty is no good for the pump. As a general rule, I always start looking for a gas station when I hit 1/4 tank.

I never let my car down that far, the furthest ill let it get to is about 1/8 and thats only if I'm really busy.
As for more info it is definitely coming from the front of the car, ill try to distinguish which side tomorrow. But it also gets louder the harder I accelerate.
Thanks for the feedback guys ill try to get specifics.

You dont need octane booster in our engines. The injector cleaners from the gas station are garbage. Buy Chevron Techron from Auto Zone, but you dont have to keep pouring it in every time you get an oil change or every time you fill up.

Have you changed you fuel filter and gotten a tune-up by any chance.

It's probably the broken exhaust brackets. They're prone to cracking and breaking on our cars. Once they're cracked, a good stomp of the gas (and thereby increasing engine movement) can cause the broken bracket to rub around making that sound. I've changed out one of them so far, and recently found out the other bracket is now cracked as well causing a grinding/scratching noise when I give it more than 25% throttle from a stop. Here's a pic I took today when I was under the car:

Check out the service bulletin NTB10-097 or NTB05-021e, it addresses the issue.
