Default What Tuning Devices Should I Be Getting?

I've read about the SAF and the Bully dog, and I'm still lost. I DO NOT plan to do the tuning myself, There a good "drag" shop up north that everone raves about. I just want to be able to get the most for my money.

I'm not sure if this is even possible, but I would like to get rid of my CEL for good. I'm getting the lean/rich codes right now (since headers/y-pipe)

07 Max
Right now for performance mods I have:
Cattman Headers
Cattman Y-Pipe with High Flow
Greddy SE
Fujita

only chance at getting rid of the codes is o2 simulators...if you can find them, buy them...but thats gonna be tough

As far as tuning, you need an Apexi SAFC2 and Wideband...will make a huge difference (I have to do this as well)

Yeap, as Gary mentioned.

Best tuning for our cars is the APEXI SAFC2 and you need to partner it up with an AEM UEGO Wideband to get the A/F readings for adjustment.

This is the AEM:

Yeap, look at the PINOUT for the ECU in the SAFC2 Thread. It should match up.

Do you have a CVT or a manual? (was a manual available for 07-08?) If you have a CVT you WILL NOT be able to get a dyno tune...the CVT will NOT allow the dyno to load properly.

You don't really need to be on a dyno to tune your SAFC2. You can actually go to the track and tune your car. Your Wideband will give you the air/fuel ratio and you make the adjustments through the Apexi.

It is a CVT, they didn't make a manual for the 07-08. Not sure how the place around here would tune it, I know they throw it on a dyno though =\ .... I did mention the CVT thing to them and they said it wouldn't be a problem

Yeah I believe Hawaii is referring to the accuracy of the HP numbers.

But it doesn't really matter if the actual dyno numbers are off because your goal is to get your Air/Fuel ratio on point.

Eddy,

Yes, you're numbers will not be correct. Is the dyno safe for a CVT...don't see why it wouldn't be...just wondering?

Yes sir. Should be fine. Here is a turbo Altima with a CVT being dyno'd. It's super strong.

If you tune based on the numbers, and the numbers would be incorrect, then i would imgine that its not safe? I've never seen a car tuned so i'm not sure, but the logic makes sense.

I always wondered about this car, I heard that the CVT can't take the torque of a turbo.

Noo.... the numbers he is referring are your output power #'s in terms of Horsepower.

You are tuning the Air/Fuel ratio of your car to optimize performance which requires various dyno pulls at different RPM's. Now once that is done and set... you would want to see what GAINS you made. Those actual GAINS would be inaccurate but you would still have your Air/Fuel ratio balanced which regardless will give you gains. You just won't know what exactly it is... but def much more than stock.

Read through this:

http://my6thgen.org/f17/can-i-dyno-my-cvt-transmission-answer-inside-3025/#post51341

I tried collecting some good points from my experience of getting my 6thgen tuned. Although you have a CVT, the logic is still the same for tuning.
