Default Turn Off Automatic Downshifting

I always use the autostick in my 2004 and i hate when it automatically downshifts because i usually downshift around the same time it does, which sometimes results in downshifting twice. This could be a potential mess and i could blow my engine one of these times. How do i turn off that feature? Is there a fuse? Idk what to do

when you press the gas down pretty hard or when you have the foot on the brake for a while like down a hill the car will downshift automatically to help you.

If you don't want to the automatic downshifts in the 2 described situations switch it to manual mode by moving the shift knob to the right.

I do this all the time, having the car forced into fifth gear on the freeway saves gas as the car doesn't get the RPMs up even if you floor it.

the tranny in the SE is suppose to be idiot-proof when it comes to blowing up the car like it won't let you put it into 1st gear going 120.... It goes though all these computers before it does anything,,,you're much less "connected" to the car driving auto which is why a lot of guys like the 6 speed.

keep in mind that there are a bunch of people with tranny issues with the trans in the max so I would be careful about derping hard in your max

true^ i would never drive my max in tip when i had it, which is why i ended up getting a manual car...these trannys are infamous for failing so i would cool it with the tiptronic
