Default suction cover gasket

hello, replacing the valve body on my friend's 2005 altima and when i removed the suction cover (part 35475-50A010) the gasket had a chunk missing out of it. can i just use gasket maker on this thing? it seems like a real pain to find a new gasket.

I vote gasket. That is not an informed opinion though. If i was doing the job i would plan on replacing the gasket.

ah yes, thank you for the replies. obviously a new gasket would be ideal, but i didnt have one, couldnt find one, wanted to put this thing back together. i guess my question was more along the lines of: what is the suction cover trying to separate? pressure or liquid or what?

by the way, i did just use gasket maker and the repair was not successful. at all. but i suspect the tiny amount of gasket maker on the suction cover was NOT the problem.
