Default Short Belt?

Just wondering if it was possible to use a shorter belt to bypass P/S and A/C and how much gain would you see?

In my opinion, you have a Maxima...it's not a race car. I'm sure it's possible, but if you wanted a manual rack, no AC car, then why did you buy a Maxima?

This should answer you question, I wouldn't suggest dropping the P/S though these cars are hard enough to turn as it is. Above all else, you probably would gain much. the A/c acts just like an idler when it off any ways.

If you wanted to still drop the a/c belt you could try getting a alternator belt for a 2000 maxima(which has the option of no a/c) but I cannot promise you it will work.

Very much doable, ricers do it to their civics. U can use a string to get the length but u may rub the belt together after u put tension on the belt. They say each pulley is about 15% loss not sure how tru that is. But no power steering is no joke on a 6 cylinder even if ur jus chillin at the track.

Tru! A light weight pulley is like 2-3lbs. OEM is like 11lbs.

No, I haven't done anything to this yet other that CAI and Exhaust work. I have no idea what is involved in changing one of these belts just wanted to know if anyone had done it and if it would be worthwhile to swap belts before running. Hypothetically, if the motor is running less accessories, then there should be more free power?

if that is your car in your avatar, it looks like you have 20 inch chrome wheels. Some lightweight forged 18s will do much more that this belt. Start there.
