I hate to hijack this thread but I wanted to share my experience with this. I just did my transmission mount today. Bought off ebay. The actual store is onlinewholesaleparts.com. Even though it doesn't look like the old mount is bad, it was very squishy and not firm at all compared to the new one.

I actually took of the mounting bracket too. I probably didn't need to.
Click the image to open in full size.

I don't know if this the original mount but it has a void under neath the groove where the transmission sits. The ebay one is solid. I took it for a drive afterwards and the clunking noise is gone and everything feels tight again. Night and day difference.

Can you just bring it to most shops, and ask them to check your motor/tranny mounts?
Do you think they will charge you also?

Few may not charge you.... only if you know them somehow.... However i think it should be freee -- only if you fix your problem at the shop right after insfection.

P.s - for the rear mount visual insfaction will be hard to tell if the mount is bad/good.. Unless its really bad. In my case i just had cracks and they told me it was good. BUt when i took it out for HEaders i found it was Crack which you can move around by hand. Another word it was bad. --- Hope that will help.

please be advise that Racingline Sells Motor Mount INSERTS !

not the acutal mount , what the insert does it basically fills in the OEM mount to take the abuse and viberation, Currently they only offer the inserts for Front of the engine and the rear,

The Rear is more PITA and thats why they sell them seperate,

The fronts and the Tranny mount are usually the first to go,

Currently there isnt any full urthane mount thats avaliable for our cars.

Ive been riding on the Racingline Inserts with new OEM mounts for 3 years and aggressive driving , no issues so far.

ohh all right got you. thanks for the clarification

yeah i think my tranny mount is in need of replacement. the shifts are pretty harsh sometimes....uugghh

other than inspecting the motor mount itself, how else can someone tell if they need to be replaced?

edit: i just read one of eddys earlier posts. if the car jumps from Park to Drive. mine doesnt do that yet....ima still check it out this weekend tho

My 06 max just pulled the code P0780. I checked this and it says:
- Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid
- Faulty shifting solenoid valve
- Shifting solenoid valve harness or connectors
- Shifting solenoid valve circuit is open or shorted.
Can any one in the house tell me what numbers 3 & 4 are about. Are they referring to the tranny mounts?

Hey all,
Just got my struts, rear sway bar and tire rods replaced at Nissan of Queens under my aftermarket warranty and it cost them $1100! So NoQ told me I need to replace my front and right side motor mounts. I was wondering if anyone can help me with the exact parts I would need to purchase. I've looked on courtesyparts.com and rockauto.com; however I'm still not sure exactly which ones I need. Any and all help would be appreciated!
