Default Possible CVT issue?

First off, Happy Thanksgiving!

So on my way home tonight on the highway doing around 70-75mph, I thought my engine/trans sounded loud. Almost like a high pitched noise. Just not normal. As I slowed just to see if it changed in pitch it did. The weird thing is on the way home, my low tire pressure light comes on and flashed for about 15 seconds or so and then turns off. Car feels fine etc. Still noticing the louder than normal whine as I press the gas. Just dropped my parents off and it's fine around town. Car sounds normal, I'm goin to check it out tomorrow on the highway again but why would I only hear it at highway speeds? Sorry this is so vague but not sure if it's the engine or trans. Only reason trans concerns me is I just did the drain/refill at 60k. Also, this was around 3k or so....doesn't make this sound in park only in drive. Thanks

trust me, they are on my crap list as it is. I took it in for the service and the guy told me they were goin to drop the pan/clean it out etc (I knew this was bs but I let him roll with it). brought it in and suprise suprise...they didn't drop the pan as stated. I knew this wasnt part of the service but thought hey maybe they d that here. So...you lied to me. I'm goin to check it out today on the highway and see what happens. I have never had ANY issues with this car until now. Yesterday was the first time since the service I've had it on the highway for a long drive so. Still lost about the low tire pressure light coming on and going off too

The tire low pressure light is just bc of the rapid temp change, that is normal.

The whine might not be. The funny thing is... my car started making the SAME noise. Its only when Im in drive and more so when Im on the gas, just like you stated. Its a whine or hum noise. High pitched as well. I have no idea what it is and its really not THAT loud. It is driving me NUTS. Ill let you know what I find out, do the same.

Try a different Nissan Service Department?? I have a 01 g20... got it a it Kings Infinity of Brooklyn brand new... I went for service there once.. was very satisfied... then I decided, well - everyone raved about Ray Catena in NJ.. so I went there since it was only 10 minutes away and not 45... terrible experience and a few issues. I called, complained, and called BK told them and they said bring her in right now. Brought them the printout and explained the issues to the tech.... I (luckily never needed to take her back to a mechanic - 256k miles) but from that point on they were the only ones the even did routine oil changes on her.

Sometimes if you explain to another service center they will try to outshine the other dealer... Just a suggestion.

Sorry you're having issues. I plan to do this service myself. I just don't trust dealers at all anymore and I seem to know more than they do most of the time.

Fuck the dealer. Thats jus how I feel. U guys said it only happens while in drive right? Get on the highway n cruise. Throw the car into nuetral, if u still hear the noise then it shouldn't be the tranny but maybe a bearing. If you dont hear it then you need the transmission looked at.

Sir that is an improper and very poorly worded sentence. Best watch out before you get banned. :stirpot:

well did it again tonight for about 20 seconds after pulling from a redlight. It almost sounds like the trans is in the wrong gear. worse part is if I bring it in, I'm sure they're "not going to be able to dulpicate" here I try to keep up on maintenance and I start having problems.

CleanMaxx how long does yours last?

I guess the good news is that the CVT trans is covered for 120K. I heard they had issues up to 2011. Complain till u get a new one.
