Default P1446 Check Engine Light Code

Hey guys, I have 2 problems with my 04 max, see if you guys can give me any help?

1.)
My check engine light came on i took it to auto zone, and they V-checked it, and told me..
-EVAP canister vent control valve (closed)
probable cause^

-Failed canister vent solenoid

-Failed EVAP pressure sensor

Just wondering if you guys have ever experienced this ?

And also my #2 problem is with my shifter, while its in gear it has alot of play going side to side, the lower the gear the more play it seems to have, this just started, i do not know why. The higher gear its in the less play it has..

Any help or opinions is appreciated
Thanks guys

Ok, here we go. Remove the vent valve from the EVAP canister located under the rear cross member. This is what the valve looks like.
Click the image to open in full size.
Check all rubber hoses goin to the valve, ur looking for blockages and/or water. The port where u see the spring, check for rust and/or debris. If u c any, clean it up good. Check the O-ring as well for damage n debris. Now on the valve where the electrical connection, should b 2 pins. Supply 12v n see if the plunger moves. If it does move up u should b able to blow air from one side of the valve to the other. Blow thru very hard jus incase theres debris in there, u wanna get it all out. If when u supply the 12v n the plunger does not move try reversing polarity first, if it still doesnt move, ur valve is the culprit.
