Default P1110 - Unknown Engine Code

Has anyone ever got such code on their max?
Searching the forums does not even bring one thread about this and google has very limited results towards maximas...
Thanks.

Default Re: P1110 - Unknown Engine Code

Never had that code but here are the details on it.

-----------------------------------

P1110 NISSAN - Intake Valve Timing Control Bank 1
This mechanism hydraulically controls cam phases continuously with the fixed operating angle of the intake valve.

The Engine Control Module (ECM) receives signals such as crankshaft position, camshaft position, engine speed, and engine coolant temperature. Then, the (ECM) sends ON/OFF pulse duty signals to the intake valve timing control solenoid valve depending on driving status. This makes it possible to control the shut/open timing of the intake valve to increase engine torque in low/mid speed range and output in high-speed range.

The intake valve timing control solenoid valve changes the oil amount and direction of flow through intake valve timing control unit or stops oil flow. The longer pulse width advances valve angle. The shorter pulse width retards valve angle. When ON and OFF pulse widths become equal, the solenoid valve stops oil pressure flow to fix the intake valve angle at the control position.

Symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Possible engine lack/loss of power
- Posssible engine rough idle

Possible causes
- Harness or connectors
- Intake valve timing control solenoid valve circuit is open or shorted
- Intake valve timing control solenoid valve may be faulty
- Crankshaft position sensor (POS) may be faulty
- Camshaft position sensor

When is the code detected?
When there is a gap between angle of target and phase-control angle degree, the valve will stop working and the Engine Control Module (ECM) will trigger the P1110 code.

Tech notes
Since the Intake valve timing control solenoid valve uses oil flow to control timing, dirty oil can cause the valve to stuck open or close. Before replacing the valve, change engine oil and filter and reset engine code.

Ouch. That can't be good. At least you know what it is.

Alright, thanks everyone. Today was the first time i started the car with the new engine. It runs, but has that one code and it makes the car run weird. Il probably swap the valve with the one on the other engine and see what i get.

Edit:
Going to replace the solenoid now see if things turn out better.
Will post results.

Edit:
Nope, now the car wont even start with the solenoid from the 04 engine.
Guess il order a new one, maybe the 6th gen and 6.5 gen engine had some differences, this being one.

Update.
Bank 1 sprocket is off by a tooth. The timing is at 16 and it should be at 15. The good thing, i did not bend the valves. Bad? I have to go back and redo the timing.
Cool.

Default Re: P1110 - Unknown Engine Code

I heard about this error code. The error code triggered from a fault in the system that consists of the components Dump valve, Solenoid valve, ad Vacuum hoses. My understanding of this system is that it routes excess pressure from the turbo and moves it directly into the intake manifold, I checked all the vacuum lines and the dump valve for proper suction and condition. I am not sure how to test the solenoid valve so I decided to replace it. Please produce some more attachments for the detailed view of the site.
