Default New To N20

Ok I sold my 22's today. I bought used zex wet kit and set of like new 350z 17's. The zex came with bottle warmer, remote bottle opener, and all other hardware. I plan on having nitrous installed next Friday, and then off to the dyno. My question is whats a nice safe shot I can use?

Here couple quick pics

75-100 shot would be safe and good enough.

I'm planning on running a 75 shot on mine, I think you can you up to 100 shot, after that you would need to upgrade your fuel pump.

I wouldnt wrap it , you have a bottle heater in the pictures

75 is the norm and safe ,

dont really need to upgrade the fuel pump until you reach 100 shot +

you can paint it any color, just saying never seen the bottle wrap because you have the bottle heater to keep it warm to build more pressure.

Im not even sure how that would work if it was wrap in carpet with the bottle heater on top of it.

it would be a first I ever seen if you go that route, it is your choice tho.

a 75 shot is safe for a lightly modded Maxima , intake / exhuast / headers

that is why we say its a SAFE shot ,

200 shot would NOT be a SAFE shot without supporting mods.

There's the guy running 150-200 shots from maxima.org I think user name jime. He got same engine as we got. So far what he told me about what mods he got: stock internal, utec ecu standalone, NX wet shots, dynotune warmer ket n pressure gauage, retarded timing 4, step 2 colder plugs, n he got auto tranny. He got 4th gen maxima I think he running 10 or 12 sec 128 mph at 1/4 miles.

Jime ( Jim ) is the first MAXIMA in the 10's

He is legit BUT again HE HAS SUPPORTING MODS !!

n2o is very realiabe *IF* you know how to TUNE , 150-200 shot is nothing as long as you have the safety measures and fuel delivery , knock sensors , wideband.

Just saying you installed a wideband , and being able to read it and know what to look for is two differnt story.

Now before everyone starts jumping over this 150shot that Jime has, DO YOU RESEARCH ,

Jim has gone thru motors, and he has spent ALOT OF MONEY IN ELECTRONICS/TUNE before you attempt this.

its your motor, its your car, its your money and its your @rse !

listen , supercharged, turbocharged or n2o will evenutally lead to piston ring failure..on a stock engine.

cars that are turbocharged from the factory , usually has upgrade rings

n2o will eveuntally wear out piston rings, but if your racing like jime does ( seasonal track car where you race 5-7 times a year ) then it may lead to engine failure.

most of you guys wont even get to use n2o that much too effect it VS. guys using it on a track daily / bracket races and constant engine being introduce by n2o.

So if I pull up at a light and let it rip I'm gonna blow something without other upgraded parts? What kind of gains are there with having this and daily driving? Any gains at all?

honestly if you have to ask this question , you shouldnt even be thinking about this.

but EVERYONE needs to educate themself on this topic, I myself have about 17 plus years in peformance.

for newbies that listen to the local racers rave about a new mod, I think everyone should do their own research, there is nothing wrong about asking the pros to get more info and input , then take the data and research it.

n2o as you know is laughing gas

how a motor works ? is almost how you breathe and perform almost.

a engine needs air to breath in and out ( intake and exhuast )

when you introduce n2o ( cold force air ) into the intake stream , you get a INSTANT power boost,

Thus why we talk about *Shots* ( example 50 shot , 75 shot 100 shot n2o )

the Jetts are changes to get differnt power range from the n2o line.

a 75 shot is not going to blow your engine,

n2o is divided by a dry shot single fogger , wet shot ( fuel delivery ) direct port.

150 shot with no addition fuel or engine mangement , well you can say bye to your engine.
