Default My Maxima Is Leaking Oil! :'(

so i took a couple hour drive today, and stopped at a gas station and smelled burning oil, so i brought my car back home and looked underneath, sure enough, i have an oil leak. it appears to be coming from the oil pan, but ive read that these cars have a 2 piece oil pan. what should i do?? i mean i can live with a small oil leak for right now, but i know that eventually its just going to get worse, and i need to get it fixed. is it worth it to attempt to replace this on my own? thanks guys, any tips will help!

First thing first ,

get a can of brake cleaner or degreaser

You have to clean everything underneath the car first

From there either watch where its leaking ( start the car and let it idle )

you need to pin-point where the leak.

It could be from the rear main seal

could be front crank main seal.

the oil pan can be drop , I believe its 10mm bolts and the pan can be taking down.

also check if the oil plug drain is leaking, there is seal around that, also oil pressure switch in the back on the motor would also leak.

again clean the car as clean as you can , take some pics or try to pin point which side of the oil pan.
(EXAMPLE ) leak closer to the transmisson side ?

leaking by passenger side , or rear .

also check your oil dip stick
