Default Installing NWP Spacers Tonite And Have Some Q's

I'm in the process of installing these spacers as I write this, and I am wondering from those of u that have been there. When connecting the coolant bypass fitting I realize that the elbow on the front of the TB that leaked coolant is where one end hooks up and I am looking for the other end and I see the hose similar in size connected right near where the lower EGR hose bolts up and I thought this is where it goes, but as I am taking the manifold off I feel another hose connected to what seems like another elbow just on the backside of the manifold. Is this the other end? I dunno there is not a whole lot of illustration in the instructions. And after all is disconnected should it take much effort to remove the manifold? Thanks for any input

Figured it out, my dumbass didn't have the 2 bolts on the back of the manifold off and the coolant bypass must have to be the 2 on the intake, because seems that the EGR would still need to be cooled. Anyhow its installed and idles allright Ive been trying the relearn but its a pain in the ass to get the timing right, even using a watch the MIL just stays lit after 20sec Oh is the whistling normal, Ive heard others say that theirs did the same? Just hope its not a leak

Heres a pic of the coolant fitting that is bypassed, the other end is on the opposite side between the manifold and firewall

Whistling is normal. If u dont have a code, u dont have a leak. Especially if its idling good. Doin the relearn, I havent heard of anyone doing it the way the say on the instructions. Lol.

Tried both of the suggested relearns and still got CEL, had it hooked to consult for the relearn and DTC's were high idle air and lean bank 1+2. Anyone ever hear of the spacer's damaging your MAF?

Took the whole thing back apart, pain getting the spacers back off, they were glued pretty tight into place, had to slip a blade between the spacer and manifold a lift it enough to get my plastic putty knife, then it came right off. Cleaned everything up extra careful this time, set the spacers and waited overnight to start (maybe a little overkill), started it and EGR was leaking where it connects to manifold (WTF?), gasket was trash so I RTV'd that too and so far so good seems much smoother and has a more distinct whistle, dont see the idle searching either so I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed till 100 or so miles then, I can probably be sure I won't see a code. Next project headers! yay

So the spacers have been installed now for 160+ miles with no CEL!! I ended up disconnecting the battery resetting the light, loosening the UIM bolts and the front LIM bolts just enough to retorque to spec (my thought is that these have to be presisely tightened equally especially with the spacers, or else you could have some flex in the manifold causing the leak) I think that my problem was the bolt on the LIM furthest to the right as there is a tab on the fuel rail causing a clearance prob which may have prevented me from torquing evenly. Anyhow, did all the relearns and she has been running like a champ with no lights, had prob 30-40 key cycles so again I'll keep my fingers crossed. Have yet to take it for a distance on the highway, so we'll see. Thanks for everyone's help!!

I hope you retighten them in the torque sequence , that is the main problem ppl dont do, they just tighten whatever bolt ...this is probally your culprit

Yes, I am aware that the bolts must be tightened inward out. My thought is that with the fact that the spacers are plastic if the bolts are not tightened to equal torque (I hand torqued the first time) then there is some squish in the spacer causing the manifold to flex and thus leak also the bolt furthest to the right on the LIM is difficult to get a good bite on due to the fuel rail directly above, which may have also been the problem. At any rate we are at almost 200 miles with no light. So in addition to following the tightening sequence I would also suggest to anyone that is going to do this to use a torque wrench and save yourself the headache. I got a 3/8 drive at autozone for $20
