Default Hydro-Locked 6thgen

A couple of days ago it was raining like hell here in cali. In the morning I was driving to work. I saw a big puddle so I slowed down so not to hydrolock..(yea I know) car stalled in middle of puddle. I turn it on and was able to drive to the side of the street. Engine was making weird noises plus idle was going crazy. Later that day I pushed it back home.

Today finally it stoped raining I check and got a p0103 error. I took the IM plus egr tube off and there was water in them. Also I was able to see some water droplets wear the spacers are. Checked engine oil but it seems fine.

Things Im going to do try...
Drain oil (after oil stops turn on for a minute to allow more to come out)
Add cheap oil
Add seafoam product
CRC all electronics, like MAF etc....
what else should I try to do.

How did he do the oil changes? How long did he leave it before draing it and refill it with new oil...I was thinking of using the seamfoam spray and shoot some in the cylinders before I close the IM.. then just Add regular seafoam.

if it hydrolocked then it woud be LOCKED hence the name given to it...take plugs out, make sure theres no water in the cylinder (take a towel put it around a screw driver and shove into the hole where the plug is) make sure it comes out dry. THEN do the following: get a set of plugs put them in a running car, run them for a min or so then put them into your engine while their still hot (assuming there is water still in the intake system) that should work. if not then you may have a sensor issue.

Yes which is why you should get a hydro-shield to help protect it. I posted in the intakes showcase section.

Take it to a mechanic and let them handle it correctly, you'll get your car back in no time.

Good luck.

Since I installed the mods, Ill fix it....LOL. Took out spark Plugs and cranked it.. No water came out. Installed some new cheap plugs. Added some seafoam directly into each cylinder hole, and waiting about an hour so it wouldn't hydrolock by me doing that also. CRC all the sensors and used brake cleaner on other parts to dry out the water. Used autozone brand oil and added seafoam to that also. I just had to change the oil twice and now car runs better than it did before the hydrolock. The gap on old plugs were horrible. Going to cut the jita so I can use it as Short Ram and CAI...
