Thread moved to proper section. This has nothing to do with "Headlights & HIDs."

Do our cars have a reverse safety, or neutral lock-out switch?

Yes. There's a protective tab right next to the shifter. Flip it up, insert key, shift to your hearts content.

I'm not talking about ya e-brake.. Try to see if your brake lights work.. You say it happens intermediately.. If you can, the next time this happens look in your rear view to see if you have brake lights or have someone check for you..

A brake light switch is an electrically powered switch that triggers the brake lights to activate when brakes are applied. A brake light switch operates via two wires, called a power-in wire and power-out wire. When you, the driver depresses the brake pedal, a plunger device contacts a metal plate, which completes an electric circuit in the switch via the two wires. The switch then activates the brake lights.

Good luck with that, I'm pretty sure it's your brake lamp switch but keep us posted.. If it does turn out to be the brake lamp switch.. I have a Nissan part number for ya and I'll walk you through on how to R&R (remove & replace) it bro..

I didn't even think you could take the car out of D without stepping on the brakes? If he can get into N, then it wouldn't be the swtich, would it?

Yup. I believe you have to press the brake to get out of "P" and that's it.

I understand that but you said that it happens intermittently.. It will send a signal for you to go into drive but issue is it doesn't send a signal when your trying to get out of drive.. No signal to release gear selector, no brake light.. Just keep an eye on ya brakes the next time it happens..

Ok i am taking the car to the mechanic , he told me as others did that the problem might be trasmission related, so here is y question how much it is to fix a busted gear, or about how much it is to rebuilt the transmission just need rounded prices thanks.

Ok i went to my mechanic today to look in to this for the first time , at first he was telling me that it might have something wrong with my transmission like some of you said here too but then after missing with the car he came up with two things that it can be.

He said it can be the
Shift Lock Solenoid

Also i have to get
Rack + Pinion for the pop sound i get when i turn the wheel,
I will update when i get it done.

Abs Light Is on
I need a front left abs sensor about this: i think some wires might be crack or damage if the wires that connect the sensors are damage can it make abs light come on ? quick question thats all.

Ummmm, yes, if your ABS sensor wires are broken then I imagine it could trip the light.

I know the rear sensors can be purchased online for about $125/side. The fronts are more expensive...$165-$180/side.
