Default Funny Pulsing Sound at Start Up

Lately I've noticed a kind of pulsing/air flow/pumping kind of sound on engine start up. More so with a cold engine than with a warm engine, but both.

Sounds to me like a belt driven accessory noise based on the pulsing and the frequency of the noise. (Reminds me of the noise an old pollution control vacuum pump used to make on cars from back in the 70s and 80s that had them installed.)

Checked the power steering pump fluid and it's OK. AC compressor maybe? A vacuum leak somewhere? If so, where?

It's a mystery to me!
