Default Fuel System Problem?

In the morning my car starts fine...but after I drive and leave it parked for a while on the start the ignition cranks and then the car starts after a few seconds (3 to be exact...I timed it)...Today, my friend, who is a mechanic, told me to cycle the key 3-4 times...ok, so I did and the start up was normal (not delayed at all). He said there may be a sensor problem or a fuel pump problem...

I have a 2006 Nissan Maxima SE. Is this indicative of fuel problems? Engine light isn't on, air filter is new. Recently had the fuel injection tuned and O2 sensor changed. I'm going to get it looked at, but wanted to know if any of you had similar problems or some suggestions as to what it may be.

Does your speedometer and other lights in the dash board light up before it turns on?

Replace both CMP's (Camshaft POsition Sensors)with Genuine NIssan sensors. This topic is covered under Nissan TSB and is not fuel related in most cases. For more info on hard start when warm look into NTB04-063 which calls for CMP replacement on both banks.

Burnt, thanks for this...much appreciated!

Do you know where I can get a diagram of where the bank 2 sensor is located?

Am I asking for trouble if I do this myself?

Anytime.
Disconnect battery and replace sensors. Not really difficult. One tip I might add is that you need to press down the green connector tabs on the cam sensors until you hear a click, then you can press and remove connector.

Glad you got it figured out. It shouldn't have taken 2 hrs though lol. Nonetheless, it's all good and done.

yes, another week another problem. So, after doing this whole thing w/ the sensors everything is all good. But now I notice that there's a hard start when the engine is cold. Total opposite now happening. Anyone have an idea of what this could be?
