Default Engine Whine

Hey guys I just bought an 06 maxima se about 2 weeks ago. When I accelerate I can hear a whining noise but when I let off the gas it stops. I was wondering if this was normal engine noise or what?

Welcome to the Family!

How many miles are on the car? Typically the whining seems to be related to the timing chain guides, but we need a little more info...

It has 78k miles on it. See I have only had the car about three weeks and I didn't really pay it much attention at first. I had a mustang gt with loud pipes so I'm not used to being able to hear the engine noise that's why I was wondering if it was just normal or if there was an issue.

Does it make a ticking noise when you start it and fade off as the car warms up?

No. It is a quite as can be on start up and idle thats why i was thinking it might just be the sound of the engine. But when I put it in gear and give it gas I hear the noise.

welcome aboard, but right now we are shooting in the dark...

if you could post some vids or record the noise it would help us troubleshoot this whine you have.

usually if its a whine, it could be the belts/alternator
