Default Coded Out...

I've been somewhat stressed about all this emission thing here in this state...my tag expires next week. I already know with my SES light on that the precat (mainly bank 1) is shot, so with a lot of my expenses so far going into the house, to acquire HFPC's and all was really not in my budget so soon.

I just had a shop that do emissions as well, clear the codes with that thingamajig just enough to take emissions today. Guy said I had to do about 60 miles prior to getting it done to heat the cats up, and drove I did.

I mean I pretty much drive like a 'granny' nowadays, but not this morn. With the SES light off, I let loose the demon in the VQ to downtown ATL (about 30 miles from shop), upshifting and downshifting on the highway! Didn't redline, but stretched them gear ranges as much as possible (God I love driving a stick shift). Passes emission...yeah!

I know that doesn't fix the problem(s), but at least I can get the car legalized without getting stressed when PO! PO! rolls up behind me. Nuff said!

I would not have bought this car if it wasn't manual.

Then you would have loved that Z you were considering a while back.

I had an 04 Daytona Blue before the max, 6sp. too, but my back, and my kids fighting to see who would get to go with me driving forced me to sell for the Max.

Well I have 2 kids, that's why I changed my mind bout the Z. I was not aware that it didn't have a back seat at all. Now Im thinking about a 2012 Mustang 5.0, but not anytime soon, few years down the road.

I'm glad you passed emissions, but I wasn't aware of any CVT issues?

remember there's a warranty on the catalytic converter under 8 years or under 80,000 miles the dealer has to fix it for free . I had the same problem but i didnt know about the warranty so when i decided to take care of it i was passed 80k so it had to come out of pocket FML

Yeah Johnnymaxx, i'm too late on that, I'm now brushing the 106K mark.

Contemplating if I should go SER header setup with o2 sim, or HFPC. Headers seem cheaper, but if I can't cop an o2 sim and make it work consistently keeping the SES light in check, then I dunno....I'm still researching thanks to these guys here feedback(s) on the forum.
