Default Code 744 after installing new VB

Hello everyone, first post here. We just bought a 2005 maxima for our 16 year old son. We got it from an Air Force guy and it looks almost brand new, but has 200K miles. The transmission was slipping and we figured out it was the VB problem that so many others had experienced. My mechanic replaced it with a new one, but now it keeps throwing the p0744 code. Sometimes it will go into safe mode and stay in that gear.
Any idea what the problem could be? This didn't happen at all before the valve body was replaced.

Thanks for the help!

Have you ever replaced the camshaft position sensors?

I thought that code was for the torque converter clutch? Is it also associated with the camshaft sensor?

It doesn't relate to camshaft sensors but can possibly be your CRANK shaft position sensor , my tranny guy says to replace the solenoids to fix this

What sucks about this code is that most shops will recommend a full rebuild!
