Default Car Was Smoking :-(

This morning when i parked my car i noticed smoke coming from under the hood..it wasn't alot, it was like a little bit of steam coming up towards the windshield.I thought my car was overheating but my temperature gauge was in the middle as normal ..I planned on getting a oil change this week anyway so i took it in he checked my antifreeze and said everything was ok.He said it might have something to do with the the weather conditions.im feeling kind of uneasy now, it didn't smoke on my way home but im like WTF was that about..anyone have any idea why that would happen or what i should do?? Thanks

Car isnt going to overheat that much in this brick weather...lol..

I was about to say antifreeze, or maybe it could of been the exhaust being back drafted by the air and which could of been assumed as the car smoking. Check your radiator and hoses just in case. But the easy way you would know if its an antifreeze problem is by the smell. If you dont smell it, then its not the antifreeze. Could be leaking oil dripping somewhere, but like I said you can tell by the smells. Burning oil has a distinct smell that you know something is burning. I would probably say a loose gasket from the exhaust. But diagnosing online without actually seeing it is difficult. If this is confusing to understand let me know. I'll break it down some more.

Yeah, more than likely weather-related. You probably would have noticed something else too. Just keep an eye on it.

first though is smoke or steam? steam would have dissipated and with the snow we've had it could have been snow on something hot making steam.

second thought is you need to get the car on nicorette so it can quit smoking...

ok bad, but i thought id try to make you smile in the midst of your worries

Definitely do this. I had the same problem a few weeks ago and it turned out the radiator fan was busted due to the snow/ice (my car is low, so the snow 12+ inches of snow was packed on the bottom of the engine bay). I had to replace the fan.
