Default Belt Or Pully Bearing Noise?

I have a 07 with 62,xxx and I was driving the other day on the highway. I was driving at 80mph for about 15 minutes and when I pulled onto the ramp and slowed down my belt started squeaking bad. It eventually got quieter and then would kick up randomly (why I think it's a pulley bearing). If it got louder I'd shut the heat off and it'd get quieter. Yesterday I drove for around 150 miles and the noise was at it's worst. It was worse with the heat on. It also gets louder when I floor it, When I turned the heat off there was a intermittent squeak. The noise is defiantly by the belts

I usually would tackle this myself, but brought it to my mechanic. Hopefully he figures it out. I hope it's a belt, but not likely. Is there any pulleys that are known to go bad? I'll update this thread with the fix.

grab a 14 inch socket/wrench and tighten up the bolt for your tentioner that is right by your passanger side motor mount

also check your belt and see if all teeth are good on it or not .. might be time for a new one

not much to discuss if you already drop it off at the mechanic.

I would have check the belt/ and tension on the belt

that's where I would first start.

He said my AC compressor is bad. He said he temporarily disabled the clutch. I asked him how much to replace. He said we can talk about that after the holidays. This is actually my mother in laws mechanic.

Any how can I replace this myself, or are ac systems only left to handle by a professional? I checked and it looks like I can get a part fro $200-$300. Seems like a pretty easy install minus the ac lines.

If you feel confident that you can do it, then go for it.

I just spoke with him. He said my compressor and dryer is bad. He quoted me $1200.

He said he'd de-pressurize the lines for $45 so I'm going to try this myself. He has only 3hrs of labor and he's asking way too much for the parts.

Just bought this kit and 2 new Goodyear belts.

Belts were pretty cheap from here. They were about $23 for both belts.

Here are a couple pics of the ac compressor clutch. My car has 62,xxx miles too. I'm sure the dealer would have covered this if I was under 60. FML. New learning experience I guess.

Forgot to update this thread. I actually had the shop do this for $150. They said the compressor was not the same and the pulley was actually 1/2 inch bigger. He said the part was for 02-03 Maxima's. I told them to throw it on anyhow. It works perfectly with no noise. The drier was actually from a 10 Maxima. The eBay company must have known what the good parts were and sold them in a replacement kit. I didn't want the same compressor anyhow if it failed after 4 years, 60, xxx.
