Default Another NWP Spacer Question

So I took my max today to get the NWP spacers and block off plate installed at a shop today, this shop was recommended thru a co worker who had his turbo kit installed on his G35. When they finished the installation they told me my car needs to be tuned because it's idling erratic, I asked them if they had done the idle reset, which they said they had but its till idling erratic and there blaming it on the block off plate. The car sounds like its cam'd and the idle goes from 300-900rpm. I didn't bring the car home cause to me its not right and tomorrow there gonna call Aaron to see if he can help. Is it normal to sound like its cam'd?

Make sure they hooked up the vacuum hose to the canister that sits in front. Had a friend who took it to the shop and took away the whole canister. ran like crap.

hopefully they didnt touch/mess up the throttle body. Thats all computerized and if they moved that butterfly valve just a bit, it will throw off your idling..

Eddy has full info on this.

**Also you can let them know that their statement of the block off plate causing the erratic idling is a bunch of BS!!! I have the spacers AND the block off plate installed and havent had ANY issues with idling.

I saw them checking all those lines for leaks, they said they had installed many spacer kits b4 without any issues but never a block off plate, so they were blaming the plate

BOP will not do that , vaccum leak ...

one way they can check is to have the car idling and spray some brake cleaner in the BOP area, and in lower/upper intake manifold..

I have a feeling they didnt seal it properly, If I recall NWP/Aaron said you dont need sealeant (IIRC , I could be wrong ) so people put the spacers on there without it,

I like to add a thin layer of sealent to make sure no leaks occur.

did they take the negative terminal off the battery when install this ?

well anytime I about to pull the intake , I need to unplug the T/B sensors,

I usually pull the postive / negative terminals off the battery , this way I advoid resetting the T/B.

Once Ive done my mods or any other performance mods, then I reconnect the battery and start it and let it idle , the ECU will then go into re-learning phase, after 20 mins of idle , then I test drive it for another good 10 -15 mins or so.

thats only after I dont hear leaks or issues your having of corase.

To me, it definitely sounds like a vacuum leak. With vacuum leaks, you'll get a hunting/surging idle.

They should of checked all of that the first time. Double checking and test driving it before handing it back to you. The price should of been a lot cheaper IMO. Maybe like $90 since they didnt properly install it right the first time. Eh, at least you're getting it back. This time have them test drive it with you in it to make sure everything is working well.

well , I dont know what other shops in differnt state charges,

we charged 50 min an hour ,

80 per hour custom ( exhuast , turbo manifolds )

Now these guys knock out a TT z33, which isnt bad , here the only thing that slows this install down,

theres 2 bolts that bolts from the rear firewall to the manifold, whats f$ked up is IIRC the two bolts are two differnt size, ( in my case it was a 12mm and 10mm )
Now I have no freaking idea why Nissan put two differnt bolts in an area where I gotta cripple my hands to get too.

I can knock it out in about 30-40 mins, but when I did mines it took a good hour half due to the stupid bolts.

that bracket and bolt never went back in there as it serves ME no purpose to be there.

I would say its fair BUT they should have checked it and knocked down the price to $130 because they had the car for so long and it inconvinces your transportion.

Well I just came back from the shop, and big disappointment. The car still is idling erractic it fluctuates from 900rpm to 300, the car doesn't feel right at all. There still blaming it on the block off plate, so I told him to take it off if they think that's the problem but then it should be good without it if there positive it's the block off plate. So I'll see tomorrow

Basically this means that the the car's computer has detected that not all of the engine's cylinders are firing properly.
A P0300 diagnostic code indicates a random or multiple misfire. If the last digit is a number other than zero, it corresponds to the cylinder number that is misfiring
A code P0300 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
Possible Solutions

If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.
If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the catalytic converter has gone bad. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors.
Random misfires that jump around from one cylinder to another (read: P030x codes) also will set a P0300 code. The underlying cause is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak in the intake manifold or unmetered air getting past the airflow sensor, or an EGR valve that is stuck open.

Ok now that you said that code pop up ,

the only thing I can see is this CUNTs fuck around with the fuel injectors, they may have disconnected it to get around the lower intake manifold.

if these douches spray (brake cleaner ) and the lower and upper and the idle didnt JUMP up , then theres NO LEAKS.

a Block off Plate Has NOTHING to do with the car running or misfiring,

Also are they sure they connect all the vaccum lines ? Do they by pass the coolant line at the Throttle Body.

Now if your in there does it REV ? or does the car seems to have lost power ?

If so then this could be the issue with the throttle body sticking.

There is a way to RESET the Throttle body so that the butterfly is not stuck.

Also this is the best way to clear the codes with a OBD2 Scanner .. this is very important to follow.

Take both Postive and negative terminals OFF THE BATTERY POST.

Touch the POSTIVE AND NEGATIVE TERMINALS TOGHTER ( DO NOT CONNECT TO BATTERY ) for 10 SECONDS.

GO TURN ON THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH TO ON , ( THIS WILL DISCHARGE THE WHOLE UNIT THRUOUT THE CAR ) FOR 2 SECONDS

IMPORTANT , TURN THE HEADLIGHTS BACK OFF

GO BACK , CONNET THE POSTIVE TERMINAL AND THE GROUND ,

START THE CAR and let it IDLE, see if THAT alone will HELP and keep a Eye on SES , if NO SES , this mean you have CLEAN THE CODE,

what does PROCESS DOES , its BASICAILLY ZERO OUT THE ECU CAN BUS DATA LINK>

IT STARTS FRESH LIKE IT ROLLED OFF THE DEALERSHIP ,

GUESS WHAT ? SOME NISSAN DEALERSHIP WONT TELL YOU THIS AND CHARAGE YOU A FEE TO TAKE A LOOK AT SOMETHING THEN CHARGE YOU UP THE YING YANG.

Im LETTING THIS INFO OUT FOR FREE , Im not crazy and this does work as Ive done this for a buddy with a TWIN TURBO Z33 ( 350z ) and he was at the TRACK AND COULDNT FIGURE OUT WHY THE CAR IS IDLEING AND MISFIRING AND NOT REVVING,

ITS A COMMON ISSUE THAT THESE THROTTLE BODIES GET STUCK FROM TIME TO TIME, People end up buying a new TB thats like $400 bucks.

This is the trick to get by pass it , PLEASE DONT TELL THE SHOP THAT !! CAUSE ALREADY THE IDOITS DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND FKING UP YOUR CAR,
SEE IF YOU CAN DO THIS ON YOUR OWN TIME OUTSIDE THE SHOP,

Just ask for a 10mm Wrench and do it yourself, say you want to try something that you read on the fourm or a buddy told you to do this, TRY NOT TO SHOW THESE FOOLS this.

It may work or it may not , but seriously installing NWP SPACERS isnt rocket scentist.

THESE GUYS ARE CUNTS AND YOU SHOULD TELL THEM YOU SHOULDNT PAID FOR THIS
