Default Air Bag Light

hey guy, im in the process of redoing my (nissan calls it) instrument panel (aka dash). i am going to remove it. my question is if i remove the pass airbag and leave it off, will an indicator light come on and/or mess anything up? ive already done the steering wheel air bag when i swapped out the wheel from frost to black. but i did it all when the batt was disconnected for 10-15 min. TIA

Default Re: Air Bag Light

There are airbag reset instructions here:

How to Reset SRS Lamp/Airbag Light You can unplug it without tripping the light as long as you don't power the key on. Once you power the car on, it will flash. Just use the above procedure for a reset. I've tripped my light numerous times while working on my stereo.

Cory,

I could be wrong, but I think if the airbag deploys, then it needs to be reset by the dealer. If the light trips due to an unplugged sensor, then you can reset it.

I have done the air bag reset procedure a few time, works wonderful, until I found out it came on because of a badd seatbelt sensor, lol

I've tripped mine numerous times when playing around with my stereo. I've always been able to reset it.
