Default 60,000 Mile Service, Got DTC P0507

Wuz up everybody, haven't been here in a while. Well I went to the stealership and got the 60,000 mile major service. After driving it for about 300 miles the SES light came on. I used my scanner and its popping up code P0507 which means its idling too high. I called the dealer and they said nothing they did could have made the ses light come on. Can anyone tell me if this could be true cause I really think they did something. Thanks.

Depends on how far they went for the 60K service. Its very possible. Do you have your Nissan receipt on the work performed?

But either way...you need to do an idle air relearn. The dealer can do it very easily with the CONSULT II tool.

But you can also try it yourself but it takes time. Check out the thread below:

Idle Air Relearn Procedure (Manual)

Welcome back dude!

Going ~300mi is tough, that's a long time after service for a CEL to come on. Maybe they can do the idle re-learn for you like the others said. Good luck dude.

if they changed your spark plugs theres a chance that they man not have replaced the intake manifold gasket, or replaced it but wasnt torqued down correctly and is now leaking. Search for any loose/broken/disconnected vaccum lines. First try the relearn, if that doesnt help then do what i just said

Do the old DTC codes have to be cleared out before this can be done ?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't a vacuum leak cause a hunting/surging idle?

Also, to do the idle air relearn yourself is a little difficult, but it can be done. You have to follow the instructions/timing PERFECTLY!

Well on the reciept it says they changed the plugs and did the transmission fluid change. I deleted the code and it has not popped up any more. My problem now is that the tranny is taking forever to slip into drive and reverse when warm not when cold. I haven't had any trans problems until now and it has been about 1800 miles since the service. I checked the tranny fluid and it looks like motor oil so I think the tranny is history. I was hoping it was gonna be the mounts but I doubt it. How the hell do I go from having no problems and now the tranny looks to be toast.

Take your car back to the same dealer that did the service and have them figure out what the issue is.

At this point, I would buy an extended warranty, wait a week or two, then get the trans replaced under warranty.

Most warranty places would want to you to wait 30 days or more. Make sure you have no mods at all.. No CAI, no wheels or anything besides tints when you file your claim.

Before you get a warranty company, read their regulations word by word to understand their conditions. Few people I know worked for warranty companies and they told me these companies train their employees to deny claims, period, so be prepared

If you do get warranty... take off the 22s and the intake. They'll tell you the wheels are heavy and the entake caused the tranny to go bad.

Check with Bimal (BDmaxima) abut the warranty he had. Most warranty companies will let you put a down payment on a coverage plan and monthly payments. That'll be the best & cheapest way to fix your tranny.

Unfortunately stealership are A-holes when they do major service.

I had the same deal in the past...(over a year and half ago) I took car for service and in no time the tranny was slipping...like it never had....Valve body was changed under warranty i did have my intake on it and they did not say anything about it.

Fast forward to future I had a 105k service and it involved changing spark plugs, my car was running beautifully before that.

4 days later car turns off on the way home! no light went into limp mode.

Took it to stealers and they said Cam Sensor code! whaaat??? anyhow ended up paying $450 for the service and both cam sensors where replaced.

less than 4 days later after that... Airbag light is flashing away.... what the hell? anyhow i hear it just a module reset that will fix it.

So the thing is 6th gens are sensitive when it comes to the tranny... the problem exacerbates with time and the higher the mileage...

So look for a partout in the next day or two...

Believe me it works! Just do the Mississippis, if you dont have a stop watch. After I cleaned the TB she started idling at 900-1200 RPM . After resetting the ECU, Accelerator, and idle control it drop to normal idle at 700-750 RPM. NO MORE CELs!!!!
