You either have a heavy foot or tons of city driving. Notice any engine/acceleration problems?

I drove through mountain roads today and averaged 25.2 mph. Filled up when I was out of the mountains and took the freeway home and averaged 32.2 mph.
I am still in awe.

Im only on the highway for about 20 mins but thats when theres a ton of morning traffic. The rest is city/local streets. I fill up every 1.5 - 2 weeks.

When i was driving to Kentucky -- all highway.. i was getting like 38 mpg... it was amazing!

Get on the highway when traffic is moving really well (at least 60+ mph) and you can get at least a 5-7 mile stretch in without hitting slower traffic. Get to 60 mph and then reset the counter when you're on a flat section, don't reset on an incline or decline. You should get at least 21-27 mpg depending on your vehicle weight and configuration. If you can't get anywhere near there then something is wrong with the car.

Manuf. lists the change done at 100k mi, but I think a few have done it before. Very well could be the culprit...

Just a reminder, it is a cumulative MPG.

So if you remote start or start the car and let it sit while running, it is getting 0 MPG. That WILL bring down your MPG.

The reverse, if you're going down hill with a huge tail wind you will get TONS of MPG.

It's all about how you drive, accelerate and coast around. No point in speeding up to sit at a red light, let off the gas and coast to it.

I drive about 14miles each way to work. 97% of that is on the highway. What I like to do is get into the slow lane, get to about 65mph and set the cruise control. It does help a little bit. Then again a am going to work at 4:15am every day. But yeah, just watch how you drive and where you drove. Don't use the gas unless you really really have to and watch out for aggressive driving habits.

I mainly use Shell premium, and I average about 14-15mpg (mostly city) during the winter months. I'll get 15-18mpg in the summer with mostly city driving.
