Default Mechanic Takes Joy Ride In Customers Car (Aftermath)

Pretty crazy. Just saw this on the big org.

Now for my story. I bought my car in May of 2008, an 05 se 6 speed and started modding it as soon as I bought it. My mods included the stillen front lip, street scene grille, roof spoiler, 2007 rear spoiler, nwp spacers, nwp bop, r2c intake, motegi racing rims.

On Saturday I dropped my car off at my mechanics house, who lives in the town over from me because I had to go back to school for the week. He was to drive the car to his shop in Clifton to install new shocks and struts, and he did just that and they were installed, Iím assuming on Tuesday. I got a call from my mom at around 5 am from my mom telling me my car had been totaled. According to her the Chatham police department contacted her telling her that my mechanic had crashed into a telephone pole. But thatís not the end of the story, this happened at 4 am. When I heard this I was devastated. What I know so far is he drove all around the state of New Jersey ďtest drivingĒ the car. So far I know he was in Edison, where he rear ended another car, and side swiped a guard rail, and another incident in Morristown which Iím not currently aware of. Some mechanic right lol. Apparently he wasnít intoxicated or under the influence of anything, and he claims he doesnít know what happened and that he was test driving the car on 287 and heard a noise from the tire. First off whats a mechanic doing with a customerís car at 4 am? So as of right now, were assuming he basically went for a joy ride in my car throughout the state of New Jersey and his reason is he doesnt know what he was doing and he admitted to getting in a fight with his wife.

Anyway heres photos of before

I saw that too, felt terrible for the guy. He obviously worked his ass off on that ride. Sucks it gets ruined by something totally out of his control.

Another lawsuit. 1. never have a mechanic in another town 2. never leave your car at a mechanics shop if the cant do the task the same day 3. Stay with your car until the task is done 4. If you leave the car, stay with the car until its seen and wait until its fixed. 4. If all has failed sue him and his supposedly shop

If I cant do someones car I'll tell them come back another day. I never tell anyone to leave there car. I never left my car at a shop overnight, well except for my old Chevy. Alternator failed and it would of never made it back home that day. My max I fix myself and even if I had to go to the shop to get a part repaired they would fix it with me standing there looking at them and helping them out. So in any case that guy should of gone to another shop the next day before ever handing the keys to a guy in another town. I feel sorry for the guy that lost his car. But he can get another one and learn from his mistakes.

Another unfortunate disastrous MISTAKE
This guy should never have dropped his car off at the mechanic's house. If in fact the mechanic had a shop, that is where the car should have been taken. I suspect this guy probably knew this mechanic either as a friend or trying to get something repaired without the owner of the shop having any knowledge about the repair. Either way it was a costly mistake.
The mechanic obviously was joy riding and partying in the car. He obviously has zero business ethics. The only thing the mechanic did right, was not to drink and drive and kill someone.

He should be sent to Singapore and Caned along with the Radio thief.
