Default Max Down

So over this long weekend up here in Canada, I was just doing some yard work in the backyard and i hear a loud smash literally less than 100 feet away. I think to myself please dont let that be my car and low and behold it was. I come running out my backyard and i can see through the fence my bumper is sitting on the lawn and i was like oh Sh!t. A Benz clipped by car. By all accounts he was going pretty fast and couldnt control the turn. Anyway here is some pics.

Its at the shop now, waiting to be appraised. I dont think it will ever be the same especially now that the front axle looks f'd. But who knows.

If the axle is screwed, then they'll be replacing that at his cost also. I feel for you man, I'm still fighting with the insurance company from when I got rearended 2 weeks ago.

That is a true shame. At least you were not in the car.

You didn't say, I assume the guy stopped.

Yeah its a no fault claim, so all repair expenses will be paid for.

One thing i'm not sure about is that although i have an 04 Max, they order an 07 bumper like i had. I've talked to the shop and they said they should be able to order the 07 bumper. If not the bumper actually is in pretty good condition. Just the mounting points were torn off.

Will they replace your rear bumper with a 6.5gen or will they only pay for a 6th gen? I guess it depends on the shop as well and if you can work something out.

I'm telling ya'll, the signs were there....

Firstly, I never park on the road, but this weekend my sister left her car at my house and she went up to the cottage. I was painting the garage floor so I had move my car to the side of the house and hers out of the garage into the driveway and this is what happens.

Another bad sign was the day before, my wife finds a turtle crossing the street in front of our house and picks it up and brings it in the garage. It was a good 9-10 inches long, and i told her to get it outta here cuz some turtle have diseases or so i hear. (we took it to a nearby stream) But anyways, my neighbor comes by and says what were we all looking at in the garage and i told him we found a turtle. He goes on to say those things are bad luck and people do some black magic type sht......the next day my car gets labelled....

Hopefully it gets fixed quick. Depending on the shop they should order you the 6.5 bumper.

Don's car is already a 6.5, so no reason to use the 6th gen bumper.

They have to replace it with whatever was on the car when it got hit.

Rani,

I think he was talking about his bumper....

I just checked his pics...his front bumper is a 6.5 gen bumper.

If you had 6 back and the 6.5 is priced the same you can tell them to order that instead. If there is a price difference you must pay the difference. The point is to make you whole again, not new and improved.

Headlight Assy LT (damn, gotta re-bake it to open it up and black it out)
Front Fender LT
Skirt inner fender LT, RT
Wheel front LT, RT
Bearing Hub Front LT
Susp Assy, Front LT (please advise what this includes)
Mirror LT

Went by the shop today and told them about the bumper. The estimate quoted the price for a 6th gen bumper based on the price. I know exactly where they will be getting the bodyparts anyways so, they will make every attempt to get the 6.5 gen bumper and grill although i had the cmod grille. I may offer to pay the extra 50 bucks or so for the 6.5gen bumper, but will wait for what they say.

Also, since i have eibach springs they will look to see if that needs replacing and/or my KYB struts once they really get into it.
