Default Altima SE-R Headers Installation

Courtesy of Grimmax

What up homies!

Well today I finally got to pick up my max after the SE-R header install. It was complete yesterday but school held me up from picking her up. surely a difference and the rev sounds amazing!! I need a new resonator now though to lower the sound a bit. All in all.... trully worth it and she pulling hard now. Also a difference in weight!! Next week is Apexi retune and I will inform her numbers after Dyno. I owe this mod to Felix, Alex, and Warren. Thanks for all the phone calls and help on this! For any of the Long Island guys, PM me if you need the hook up on the shop I went to. Enjoy the pics homies!!! Woot Woot!!

Is this a direct bolt on? Or did it had to be modified slightly?

Not a direct bolt on. Need to weld over the EGR from your stock Y Pipe and also shave your starter a bit for a good fit.

You dont have to shave the alternator....just pop off the heat shield and shave down the flange on the header nothing really serious 15 min extra of work

Yeah it depends on the shop. You know some shops charge $40.00 a min in Brooklyn lol

for those thinking about doing this, you CAN NOT just weld over your EGR bung from stock, you need to do one of the following

1. Weld on a small Stainless Steel tube and run a high-heat flex line to your EGR valve
2. Weld on a bolt that threads to your EGR tube

not at the moment, but I will get some for you tomorrow. The problem is the stock manifold is cast, and there is no EGR bung on it, the thread is cast right into the manifold, so it is impossible to cut and weld onto the stainless steel header. I will have pics tomorrow of mine, I'm going the way of welding a tube on and running a flex line to the EGR valve.

Correct. Gary aka Grimmax lol.... had that same issue with the EGR. Not sure what that shop did. In fact they had left it with no EGR. He found out the hard way.

I didn't mention because I didn't have any visuals but you hit it right on.

Good info bro!! +1
