Default Trav's Art

So After owning the car for 15 months, I've finally decided to post it's progress. I got the car back in November 2014 for 3000 Canadian with 223,000 kms / 138,500 miles. 04 6spd elite, non limited slip trans. It was bone stock other than the 3000k HID fogs, and aftermarket shift boot to match the interior. It came with a cracked rear bumper and the owner threw in the used silver OE he intended to fix. From the asking price of 3500, he dropped it to 3000 because some issues that required attention. (tires, rad, roof, ABS sensor, the bumper)

Decided to drive with those shitty worn all seasons goodyear RSAs for that winter and get new summers.
First mods were LED interior package reverse LEDs and plasti dip the awful faded chrome grille.
The first 2 repairs i did were trunk lift supports and new rad.

After, mid winter of 2015, Drifting fun was eliminated because of the shitty tires.
Upgraded the headlight bulbs to 8000k, Front chrome badge fell off after a machine wash.
An opportunity came up for a summer set of 20 inch rims with tires. Fast wheels brand. i don't know model or any specs on it. It wouldn't be my actual choice of rims but i practically got them for free (long story) It just needed one tire and two had some camber wear. Test fit in February 2015. Found lowering springs locally used with front struts assembled for 150 around April. Eibach pro kits, 1.5 drop all around.

Enjoyed some sunny spring days, replaced the two OEM headlight ballasts, locally used set for 60 bucks. One ballast blew.
Installed the springs and wheels around May 2015. I was content with the results for how much i actually spent on this setup.

Next was tackling that ugly ass rear bumper; decided already that i was going for a custom exhaust tip, muffler delete setup.(cheapest way to go) Don't want noisy, but growl yes. (HUGE center resonator) I found a locally used set of dual exhaust tips which seemed to be the look i wanted, they were huge. (off a GMC sierra custom) Of course have to customized the OE bumper. Since i had the used bumper, played around with size and cut. Measured, cut, sanded, primed, and wet sand. Ready for next phase. Around that time in July decided to debage the rear end and get the OE tail lights tinted slightly. Also got an Ebay mesh grille, and test fitted it.

Around July time, a lot happened for 2 months (summer 2015)
Got the android double DIN radio, got a locally used dash kit, i already had an audio setup from my last car
>2 6 1/2 infinity reference (plus 2 more for this one)
>2 6 x 9 infinity "
>2 3 1/2 infinity "
>2 12" infinity " subwoofers in an angled bassworx box (inverted setup capable)
Technically i replaced all the stock BOSE speakers. Test fit the radio, rewired the whole car. 2 amps; 2 1 farad capacitors.
(separate thread for the details)
Around August i hit a good deal on a locally used Injen CAI, LED tailights and front bumper (not sure of the name) same colour all for 500 bucks (VERY LUCKY) bumper needs work though.
My #1 choice front bumper is still the EZ koncepts hybrid bumper with a N Spec duraflex lip. 700 bucks is not justifiable right now
Also got a locally used rear right door same color. My own was previously repaired from an accident and full of bondo poorly prepped and painted. The molding was falling off and chipping the filler.

Painted mesh grille to body color and put a different mesh, didn't like the one it came with; also tinted the LED tail lights.
Around September - November i mainly focused on maintenance and repairs. I acquired brakes all around Bosch pads and coated rotors, KYB struts/ shocks all around including mounts/boots, stabilizer links all around and outer tie rods. Rear adjustable arms for camber/toe. Tune up parts, NGK iridium plugs, gaskets for upper intake, engine and trans oils, Valve covers (tube seals not serviceable) Slave cylinder and OE coated exhaust resonator and 2 universal flex pipes (leaking and rusting)
Not everything was truly necessary but i wanted the car to drive like how it's suppose to and i work in the aftermarket parts industry, so i got a wicked deal on these OE replacement parts. Painted the upper manifold when it was off.
All installed around November-January

Got the 6.5 gen OE trunk spoiler and Ionic Dynamics roof lip for the roof project. Got a locally used set of Hankook ipike studless tires not to miss any snow drifting action this year for 400 for the OE 18 inch rims. They were painted Metallic black after
Installed Megan Racing strut brace
Also inverted the subs to see if they make a difference, it does have a deeper bass note now

February 2016 and did the roof project, It was previously done before but the job was not done correctly. It was rusting from the inside of the trim of the roof glass and started leaking slowly during rainy days from the front and rear back in the summer of 2015. Purchased a new glass from Nissan and painted the roof black metallic, installed the trunk spoiler and roof lip.
Re - installed the OE tailights to get the LEDs re-tinted, and front OE bumper/grille for winter mode. Will re-freshen up the other bumper and mesh grille.
Blacked out headlight housings and slightly tinted them.

Yesturday was the first night i got to actually play in the snow with the winters. First incident since i got the car was hitting the curb at low speed, took a chuck off the freshly painted rim and a piece of the splash guard, now my cold air is slightly exposed to the wheel dirt. Might be forced to install the OE intake til i find a replacement. Might need re balance and alignment. Will update

The car is not perfect, has other issues.
currently high idle from removing the TB, relearn didn't work.
ABS light is still on, could be sensor
Front crank seal leaking and stinks the engine bay on hot days.
Mounts/bump stops make noise, to be determined what it is
Other small things, but will update later.

LOVE THIS CAR SO FAR THOUGH, PUT A LOT OF TIME AND WORK ON IT. MY VISION FOR IT IS ALMOST COMPLETE

thanks man.
http://www.ezkoncepts.com/
i got these lights locally used, but it's the same brand, there's different styles. Not sure if EZ koncepts still ships them. IPCW is the brand name
As for Rims, to be honest, i haven't done any real research on where is a good place to get them. Google and time is what it takes to find that kind of info on your own. I had to do that ever since i got this car.
How i do it is, find the style you like first, find the name/model of it, and look everywhere for that particular part, eventually you'll find a deal.
sorry couldn't help more

I got one side of those tail lights. Ekz net me scratched ones every time and I got a replacement in mail after I returned them... So I am left with just the one side.

Also rims, yeah I know, but was hoping there was a site I was missing lol. My car is in the shop right now getting front end fixed. Dropped lowering springs and new rl cats, y pipe and exhaust.

Nice upgrades. Gotta get a sound clip of exhaust. You should feel a noticeable difference.

mods and future plans UPDATE.
Beginning of april, one last big snowfall in toronto, drifted around, crashed. Cracked freshly painted rear bumper and bent exhuast tail pipe, trunk took a small hit too. Well i decided for the better 6.5 gen rear bumper. bought used K sport coilovers locally, needed to be rebuilt. Still with the rebuilder.

An ad was put up in ottawa, 4 hrs away from toronto for brand new altima headers, and funny part was a week before i saw the ad, an engine code popped up, and highly likely rear cat is starting to fail. So perfect opportunity for upgrade. Best part i bought them for only $150 canadian !%&* HELL OF A GOOD DEAL. drove to get them. $80 in 1 tank of gas. Along with the trip, i had my worn summer tires on, and blew one on the highway. Bought 2 new dunlop direzza. Fixed the alignment issue that cause the worn tires in the rear with my adjustable lateral arms by eye for now until the coilover setup is complete, so will be done by machine.

Also an ad for a 6.5 gen part out at a scrap yard appeared, so i bought the whole front end, headlights, hood and grille. Bought a new front bumper for discount price. So my old summer RLM front bumper setup i've been working on and my front end setup will be sold. So that will be an interesting cosmetic and performance upgrade coming up.
