Default joecurr's Silver 6thgen

I guess I'll put my car in the projects section since I'm currently trying to get my wheel offsets to work and it might take more modifications than I thought or wanted lol. I guess the main focus of this is on wheel fitment and suspension.

Lowered on Progress springs and stock struts and shocks.

Here are the wheels I'm currently trying to fit. XXR 521's in 20x8.5 +32 with 10mm spacer in front and 20x10.5 +30 in the rear. Currently I have 245/35 tires in front and 255/35 in the rear (only mounted one side to test fit). The rear was rubbing too much on dips and turns, so things are gonna have to change. One thing to point out is that my rear was toeing in, which may have been contributing to the rubbing which appears to have occurred on either the rear bumper or the fender where the two meet. As of right now, I plan on getting BC coilovers to adjust height and dampening, and maybe a rear sway bar to control body roll. If that doesn't completely cure the rubbing, I will change my tires sizes. And if that doesn't work, I will further modify my fenders. Aaaaand if that doesn't work, I will have to accept failure lol.

You got a 255 on a 10.5? And it rubs are the spacers still on the rear and did you try rolling your fenders... Or is it rubbing on the inside...

Thanks for the love everyone! I still have a lot of work to do since AFAIK nobody has tried anything this aggressive and there is no information out there. I guess this will be a learning process.

The 255/35 is barely a stretch on the 10.5. Well, that and I think the Federals run a bit wide. I removed the spacers, no way I could run those with a 10.5" +30. I semi-rolled the fenders before, but it doesn't appear to be rubbing there. I tried the wheel on both sides, and it seems to have rubbed in different areas on each side. On the right side, I think it rubbed either on the rear bumper or the rear fender where the two meet, but that side looked like it was toeing in. On the left side, I found rubber on the rear bumper mount screw as I've already cut off the fender liner covering the bumper mount (the usual cause for everyone's rubbing). I might need to further modify the bumper mount.

Nice wheels. Try running 245/45/20 in the rear...I had the same set up on my 20x10.5 in the rear and had the same issue. I swapped tired and the rubbing went away. In my case the tired was running on the bracket that the bumper moutes on the covered by the fender liner.

That's tight fit. I asked him if he could install the rear wheel on the front to see, how it looks, if it rubs anything or any issues. I was told no way, I think it will stick out about the same as the rear, maybe little more.

245/45?? I don't think those would stretch right.

Maybe it's because they aren't exactly black, they're more of a gunmetal lol. Thanks bro, I need all the help I can get.

And thanks a lot everybody, much appreciated. I've actually been eyeing these wheels for a verrrrry long time. I first saw them on my350z, but they only had 20's in matte black. I always told myself I'd get them if they had 20's with machined lips, and finally someone had them produced. I was doing a lot of homework on the fitment, but sometimes you won't know until you actually have them.

IF you do 10.5" all around, the only way I see it working is if you run negative camber in the front and do some pretty good tire stretching. I will try the 10.5" in the front when I have time.

Default Re: joecurr's Silver 6thgen

let me know if the 20x10.5 rubs the suspension in the front, my coilovers you can adjust the camber so that won't be a big issue
