How many miles do you have on your Altima?

The parts are not expensive. Do it. I paid $100 for installation. I had to haggle on the price of installation to get it to $100.

I think since I bought a new radiator and overflow for less than $100, this should be a good thing for people to replace, especially if your car is above 200,000 miles. I am hoping to see atleast 250,000 on the odometer of this my Maxima.

Well , bought the car secondhand in a kind of hurry when my other clean SER was totaled by a young punk & the car wasn t clean & well maintained , it has 250 400KM & have lots of things to still do on it + or lovely weather that we have where I live don t help much either.

I ll have to have the parts shipped somewhere over in the States close enough to the Border in order to save enough.

Bought my Maxima brand new on July 4th, 2008.

Today is July 4th, 2017, making it exactly 9 years I have owned it.

Car has 215,050 miles on it and drives great. Looking forward to many more miles and years with it.

I am on a 26 days road trip with my Infinit QX56. Driving to Canada and back, covering over 9,000 miles. Feel free to stop by and read about the trip and see pictures...

With my trip all done, these are some facts I will remember about my trip...

http://forum.expeditionportal.com/th...vinces)/page12

TRIP DAYS: 25 days through 18 US states and 4 Canadian provinces
TOTAL MILES DRIVEN: 9,100 miles
TOTAL COST OF GAS: $1,656 of mostly premium gas. The worst price of gas was in Canada at about $4 USD a gallon.
OIL CONSUMPTION: 2 quarts of full synthetic added on this trip. Not something that happens when I am home as I change my oil every 5,000 miles
MECHANICAL PROBLEMS: Minor scrap on my front bumper and rear bumper. My led fog lights burnt up. Seller on ebay just sent me a new replacement set. Check engine light came on halfway on the trip, but it is off now by itself.

The states I go through on my road trip in the order I go through them...

Car just got to 220,000 miles. Still going strong. Have some maintenance things planned for this mileage.

With 220,700 miles on odometer, it was time to do some major maintenance. I am glad I did because my spark plugs and ignition wires were looking really bad. My car had been having some hard starts, so it was really time to change spark plugs and wires. Pictures will tell you more on that.

Here is a picture of all the parts I bought to change.

Here is the link to the one I bought from ebay. The brand name is MegaFlint. Never heard of that before. But I bought it because they offer lifetime warranty.

And here is a picture from their eBay ad.

Well, those coils did not last long in my car as they died! So, I had to get back on ebay and bought OEM coils. Car drives fine now.

228,000 miles: Did CVT transmission fluid change with Castrol CVT fluid. Has anybody ever used it? It was on sale at advance auto parts for $5 a quart.

228,000 miles:

Switched from 5w30 to 0W40 now for my Maxima and my other car, 2012 Infiniti QX56.

http://www.clubarmada.com/forums/8-e...30-0w20-3.html

Nissan does not recommend this oil for these 2 cars, but I searched online and have seen many people with Nissans and Infinitis using this oil in their cars with success. Also, this oil (0W40) is the factory filled oil for the Nissan GTR. So, it works in Nissan engines.

My Maxima is loving it so far. My Infiniti too. I will be using only 0W40 from now on until I have a reason to go back. The oil works great! Do your own research and decide if you want to try it or not. Car idles better and does not burn oil so far. And it protects better. Give it a shot after your own research.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my 2008 Nissan Maxima that I bought exactly 10 years ago on July 4th, 2008.

I have owned my Maxima for 10 years today. Bought it brand new with 15 miles on it and today it has 233,400 miles on it and still going strong.

Yesterday, I had to replace my autozone Duralast battery that died on me after 3 years of use in my car. I bought the same battery again and hoping for another 3 years or more even out of it.

Finally done with my road trip and truly had a good time in Ouray, Colorado challenging my QX, but it handled it all without any hiccups. Here is my trip report. I put my QX through what people on the trails thought was abuse to my QX, but it is Patrol and so must be used offroad. I had so much fun with it and put it through some really hardwork of 4Lo on very steep and tight hills with scary dropoffs. It truly impressed me in the mountains.

Thanks. Its a 2012. Here is the link to my maintenance and when I bought it.

If you like big suvs like these, get one. They are just gas guzzlers and cost a lot to maintain in the long run.

It is a great vehicle, but these expensive cars truly cost way too much when parts break. I have extended warranty on this truck and the extended warranty has paid over $15,000 in repairs. And I have paid out of pocket over $5,000 in repairs. That is in only over 2 years of ownership. Well, seems last owner did not take care of it before I got it. But I have gotten it very healthy now and it purrs like a kitten.

https://www.clubarmada.com/forums/18...niti-qx56.html

And this is when I flew to Buffalo, New York to buy it and drove 2 days back to Houston, Texas with it.

Got my sample kits from Blackstone Labs last night. I think they just have these kits sitting and when you contact them and send them your address, they print out a return label and ship to you. You can request for any number of kits you want. I requested for 3, but actually need only 2. One for my QX, one for my Maxima.

Besides, if you change your mind and just throw these in the thrash, no questions asked and you would not be charged anything. So, it does not cost anything to request for these.

Shipping this back with sample in it too is completely free since Blackstone has paid for shipping both ways.

But when you ship it back (free) and pay for an oil analysis, you best be guaranteed you are definitely covering the cost of the kit and the shipping both ways. They are a business and need to make profit to sustain growth.

Here are my sample kits and the contents of one displayed in the pics below. One of these days when I am off from work, I will go get an oil change done on my QX and send in my sample to them.

Vehicle: 2012 Infiniti QX56
Oil: German Castrol 0W40
Miles driven on oil: just a bit over 5,000 miles.

My Maxima has Mobil 1 0W40. Right now I am about 7,000 miles on the oil. I plan on pushing it to 8,000 or even 10,000 miles before I send sample to Blackstone. As long as my oil dipstick does not show it is low, since I added a quart of oil at about 5,000 miles on this 0W40. I added the same 1 quart of Mobil 1 0W40
