Default Battery Recommendations

My 07 Max has been having problems starting lately, and after advanced tested my battery for me they said I was due for a new one. The battery only has 549 CCA left when it rated for 700.

Can anyone recommend a good replacement battery? I live in Jersey with cold winters if that matters.

I was looking into the Walmart Maxx batteries. Any good?

Thanks!

Hello,

Unless you have a need for a yellow top etc i suggest the OEM Nissan battery. When i bought my 07 in 2012 it had the original Nissan battery in it. corrosion did it in before its time.

Perhaps you want to check the starter motor too, 549 CCA is not too low.

Would you know if that's something advanced auto would have checked when they tested my battery? I know they checked the alternator and they said it was fine..

I just upgraded my alternator and battery with a NorthStar AGM31. This is a crazy ass battery.

I run the battery from walmart. Why, because the 3 year free replacement. Unless you have some crazy sound system, you don't need any overpriced battery. Get a battery from walmart with the 3 year replacement plan. IIRC, the difference between their 1 year and 3 year battery is just the plan, nothing else. They have a no questions asked return policy (if battery is bad) and there is a walmart everywhere.

the batteries with more warranty usually have more cranking amp power. double check if that would be the case when comparing warranty. But you don't necessarily need more power unless in colder climates or extra electronics/audio accessories. More warranty is always better, but paying extra for those optima, not recommended.

I have the red top also. Bought it 3 years ago, and have no issues so far.
