Default Really rough idle.

What's up guy's I have a question. Two day's ago the max started acting up.

1. At idle the car started to vibrant really bad.
2.At highway speed around 60 MPH it gets a lot worse.
3.My SES came on but it started blinking on and off.
4. When I put the car in reverse the vibration is much more worse. When sitting at a red light, it feels as though the car is going
To shut off smh. If anyone has experienced this please let me know.

flash SES is bad.
Scan the codes and see what pops up.

Did the flashes every flash in a pattern like 4 flashes, break, 2 flashes, long break, then bad to 4 break 2 long break?

i recently got a misfire in one of my cylinders, the codes read random misfire, and cylinder 2 misfire. Not a real rough idle, but under low acceleration it is really noticeable. For me it turned out to be a faulty ignition coil in cylinder #2 . I figured this out by switching #2 coil with #4 . The misfire code changed to #4 . It was very intermittent and hard to catch it when is was acting up. My SES light flashed as well and it indicated that the manifold gas temperature is not within spec, unburned fuel = hotter temperatures, that it may cause damage to the cat converters or O2 sensors. Try and see if you can get the code. Go from there. Driving with SES flashing is not good at all.

Yes it blinked on and off for like four times but only when I accelerate.

From everything that I have read it all says the same thing you said. Possibly a bad coil pack. I've heard you can find if one of coil is bad by unhooking each one and if there is any change in the idle then that one is bad. Is that True? I can try the three coils up front tomorrow and start from there. Now the three coil packs in the back are a PITA! But I will try what you suggested . I'ma stop pass autozone tomorrow and scan the SES light.

What damage can be done when driving with the blinking SES light on? I definitely appreciate your guys feedback.

So it doesn't flash when idling?
But it flashed 4 times, then short break then 4 times then long break?

Incorrect. If the car is idle rough, and it is a bad coil, you find it by unplugging coils. When you unplug a good coil, idle will get worse. A bad coil will have little to no effect on idle. You had it backwards

You can do a lot of damage to no damage. Really depends on what is going on.

i did mechanic work for a few shops, as an apprentice years back. Im no expert, but i,ve been around cars for some time now. Learned all the theory in school for auto tech, but practical is always different than the books...lol I worked in bodyshops and now auto parts. So i know a bit of knowledge in each field.
Rough idle compared to a slight misfire i was getting sound like you have a random misfire rather than one cylinder from one coil not working. it could be the mass air flow causing the computer to be confused as to how much air its getting or faulty throttle body (expensive)....but get the code(s) first.

C code is a chassis code, has nothing to do with engine. i think you mean it's a P code. P1406 is something to do with Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Make sure you got the right code. There is no code that tell you what's faulty, like ignition coil, but tells you whats happening, like misfire. misfire code should look like a P0300 series (random misfire) depending on the last digit, that will tell you which specific cylinder is misfiring. Also random misfire usually is accompanied by another code or 2...(one problem causing another faulty reading)

Ya, but it is stupid for them to tell you the part number of the coil and not which coil might be fucked up. like you got a code for misfire cylinder 2, they should have giving that info too.

Or just replace all coils (not cheap).

So code is P0304 4 cylinder Misfire. Anyone know the firing order for each cylinder? I'm doing it now if anyone can respond rather quickly would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Edit: Never mind I found it.

Wow put the new coil in, no Change smdh. I think the problem is these Bosch spark plugs that are in there. Definitely need to put my NGKs
Back in.

@ Zillafreak So I tried what said, unplugging each one . The new coil that I just brought had hardly no effect on the idle when unplugged but the other one's did. Interesting don't you think?

So went and picked up another coil pack form AAP this time, and the max is riding like a dream again!

This was my first time ever changing any coils since I've had the car, and I've had for 5 year's now it had 49K on the clock so I think that's pretty good.

What's up guy's so this never ending problem I'm having is just getting out of hand. So my SES light came on got it scanned and came back saying that my camshaft postion sensor is bad. So I went to AAP and picked one up so about 4 day's later my SES light came back on got it scanned again and the same code CSPS.

So I went to AZ and picked up another sensor and about 6 day's go by and my SES came on again. The weird thing is when it happens the car will jerk when I'm sitting in drive.

Has anyone ever experienced this problem?

usually it is advised to change them all together, it's soo common on these nissan engines that the dealer sells them as a set.
