Same ones i got. No more squealing at startup after i got the belt tight enough. Only took four adjustments. The overdrive pulley on the 240amp alternator did not help either. It is smaller in diameter so it is harder to turn.

The nut on the idler pulley shattered and the bearing seized up. I just purchased the pulley idler from Nissan part number 11944-8J10B.

After doing this today, I can say that loosening bolt D was a major problem. I ended up using a 14mm gear wrench attached to rectangular stock and a floor jack. My accessory belt had small cracks at 60,000 miles, so I ended up replacing both.

Wow, I got quoted $170 from my dealer and thought that was ridiculous. You guys got quoted $203 and $250? This job only takes about 30 minutes if you know what you are doing, and the belts aren't that expensive. I got my set for about $40 from Autozone.

The dealer near me quoted me $135 for belts and labor. Not sure why you guys are quoted sky rocket prices

I did this on our Murano over Thanksgiving and it was a real pain. Had to have universal joints and really long socket extensions. Need to do it on the Max. Hope it's easier, but it looks the same from the service manual...

Did this on the '04 today. Went pretty well. Took me a while to learn how to get on the bolt in the back of the power steering pump, but the rest was pretty easy. Had some new Mechanix gloves and have NO cuts or scrapes!

Howdy fellow Max owners! I've been meaning to register and create an account. Finally did it today. I've used this site a couple times in the past for how-to guidance on doing some periodic maintenance and repairs. Looks like I'll be doing this in the near future. Just wanted to take a sec and say thx to everyone who posts these "how-to's" for the DIY'ers!

Anyone know the part number for each belt or is autozone pretty good about having the two belts in their system?

Power steering oil pump belt
Generator and air conditioner compressor belt

Also, is the Maxima mostly metric or do imperial sized tools fit everything?

AutoZone has them...everything is metric. Nothing exotic on these cars.
