Default How to Advance Timing +2 Degrees (For Dealers w/ Consult II & III)

Ok guys, since this seems to be a very popular mod and you guys are having trouble convincing your Nissan Dealer to do... PRINT THIS OUT!!.

For 6.5 gens the dealer must use a Consult III. The procedure should be exactly the same. There were some improvements to the III from the II but it should be just about the same for the whole procedure.

Everyone would benefit more from this mod after they've done the majority of their mods and then touched up with a timing advance one time.

Every Nissan Dealer should have a Consult II and III. Print this out and give it to them so they can easily follow this procedure if they've never done it before. Its very very simple and take less than an hour of work. Once the timing advancement (Consult II or III) is done please make sure they do an "Idle Air Relearn" procedure. The steps are also included below.

No physical work is involved... Everything is done through the Consult II device.

Step1: Warm up vehicle.

Step 2: On CONSULT 2 screen choose ENGINE

After communication with Converter will display a bunch of choices.

Step 3: Press WORK SUPPORT

Step 4:
See more choices, press TARGET IGN TIMING

Step 5: Press UP x2 for 2 degrees, correction which you should be able to see.

Step 6: Press UPDATE.

Step 7:
Now press BACK

Step 8: On the menu screen find IDLE AIR VOL LEARN.

Step 9: Press, and perform to correct your idle since you just raised it 75RPM with timing advance.

Step 10: ALL DONE!!!

Having these instructions in hand greatly increases the chance that your dealer will do it.

Con of this Mod
If you leave the battery disconnected for a long period of time its resets the ECU.... hence probably removing your timing advance. Some people have reported that it doesn't but many said it does. So its like a 4-1 ratio of 4 people seeing it go away and 1 person saying its still there.

Recheck it with the Consult II and see if its still there before you redo it. This way you can just tell the guy... oh its already at 17 Degrees Its only usually when the battery is disconnected for a while (1-2hours)

The only way around this is to get your Timing Advancement done through a reflash like Technosquare. You can leave your battery off for days

Well honestly for you guys it would be a waste of $80++ if you disconnect your battery for a long time and it resets itself. In NYC.....we can get it done for $20 bucks and free sometimes by cool dealerships. So its not a big prob around here.

I've heard after a certain amt of time that your battery is disco'd --I think like 10 mins or more -- it will reset.
