Hey guys,
So it's night time now and I can't really post a pic, but I noticed this morning there was fog and turned my defroster on. The car has the heated mirrors. I got all the way to work and realized my passenger side view was totally fogged (because i hadn;t used it) and my driver side was crystal clear. My caveman self eventually figured out "hey why not touch the mirror and see if its warm". Sure enough the driver side was toasty and the passenger ice cold. I bought this car used initially and it was fully loaded...found out the lady who owned it before (some spoiled rich milf) clipped the passenger side view mirror off, and replaced it with the cheapy version. I learned this ONLY when i realized a year or so back that the passenger mirror wasnt dimming (you know how the mirror actually says auto dim on it? the driver glass did and the passenger didn't). Surre enough i got lucky and went to a junkyard and found an OEM dimming, tilting, heated mirror assembly (with the glass that said auto dim). So I hooked it up, and sure enough they all dimmed from then on out. I took the glass out today and theres three connections, two thin metal connections and one main plug (i can take a pic tomorrow). I switched the two thin metal connections but it still didn't solve the problem. can anybody shine light onto possibly if there is any bearing on the connection ( i had it on both ends and both didnt work, swapped both). Maybe just a loose connection?? /confused. |

Wonder if you have a broken wire or some unconnected plug in there .
Corrosion on connections maybe .

The red one is the spliced one. Does it matter which wire I connect to each male end on the housing to get the dimming, and heating? It's the mirror assembly with all options.

Okay so after all this BS there was a foggy day and I used the defroster, the left one clears up in seconds and the right rakes forever. It works but doesn't get nearly as hot. I don't know is there a fix for this.

Should test wires in order to know if current goes true .

It might be the heating unit in the mirror itself .

I have the wiring diagram for the mirrors in PDF. It's like reading dog to me, so I don't know what use you might have for it, but I have attached it.
The relevant pages appear to be GW107 through GW109, so I have clipped out the other pages (for size). The whole doc is 4mb. |

Did you get everything working? Just found out I have heated mirrors to. But my right mirror clicks, it just started doing this after I linked the memory to the key fob

Hi F90, yes it can be removed while the assembly is still attached to the car. There are I believe 4 plastic clips that hold it in place; tilt your mirror all the way up and you will see where to put pressure, and carefully pull out. Are you having problems with yours?
