Anyways update on this old thread. I installed auto zone trunk lift. The brand is mighty lift for a 05 maxima. Took about 15min to install these lift and it fixed the problem with the trunk slamming, I can even open the trunk half way without it falling. I recommend this to anyone who has a 07 08 spoiler. For those who have dynomat, might need something a little bit stronger.
