I don't think you did anything wrong. Speaking as someone who has been on BC's for almost 2 years (5.5 gen), it's going to feel like that no matter what you do to it while driving on Long Island. Like NYC, the roads are just terrible. The ride won't be comfortable over any potholes (let alone a crease in the road). I drove the car from here to Charlotte, NC and back...totally comfortable ride from the Jersey Tpke all the way to Charlotte. Where did the ride suck? You guessed it...driving through NY.
